Have you looked through the drawers in your kitchen recently? If you’re anything like me you are likely to find a mystery tool or three… or six.
Maybe they come from your great-aunt Jezebel’s kitchen and she’s no longer around to tell you what it’s intended use is… or maybe it’s something you picked up somewhere when you were watching a demonstration that amazed you so much you just had to have one… but now you can’t figure out what it’s for if your life depended on it.
I have a few like that… especially since cleaning out both my mom and my aunt’s kitchens! It got me thinking that maybe someone should set up a site somewhere that allows us to post our pictures of UKG’s (unknown kitchen gadgets) and with a bit of luck we’ll run across someone who can tell us what our ‘stuff’ does!
Hey… why not share those things right here… hmmm, don’t suppose the comment box allows you to post an image? Well… perhaps you could share a link to your UKG and we’ll figure it out (or not
). In any event… what follows is mine, from three different angles… I have yet to run into anyone who can show me what this thing does. What do you think? What does it do? Why did anyone make it? What the heck is it still doing in my kitchen drawer?!? A delicious brownie to the person who helps me figure this out and successfully explains to me how to use it!

The object is a knife sharpener. I have one at home.
You place the knife in the groove between the 2 circles, start with the end near the handle and pull towards you to the tip.
