Like so many, she really likes her Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer. And being something of a Hello Kitty fan with an apparent love of ‘pink’, it looks like her mixer is pink.

The current plethora of color options when it comes to kitchen equipment, including gadgets, is a mixed blessing. I love how we can personalize our kitchens with color… and I don’t love how hooked I get on a color and then two years later they come out with another color that I feel pulled toward.

On the other hand… the kids in my life love it as there are so many kitchen gadgets that can serve brilliantly for play and crafts. If you haven’t had the experience of using a grater to create some colored wax flakes by grating up old crayons, you really ought to give it a try. And you can really speed up the process of softening clay if you grate it into bit first.

So celebrate those color choices and change your color theme whenever you desire… take it from me it really eases the ‘guilt’ over replacing those still useful kitchen gadgets when you know the kids will have fun using those green measuring cups in the bathtub now that you’ve decided you prefer orange in your kitchen… after all, your giving them the opportunity to learn some math while they’re at it!
